Loss
bends us.
Grief bends us.
Life bends us.
But bending is not
weakness—
It's survival.
It's strength. Resilience.
It is the posture we take when we choose to endure.
I once tried to stand tough,
Strong, yeah
to hold back the tears,
and silence the ache.
But my silence became sickness,
and resistance broke me.
So I bent.
Forced at the time
But no longer
It's a decision now.
Now I bend not to break.
I bend to the sound of sorrow.
I bend to the weight of memory.
I bend to the truth that love and loss
very often walk hand in hand.
Bending is not compromise.
It is courage.
It is choosing to adjust,
to adapt,
to accept—
not because I am defeated,
but because I am determined to overcome
this thing called grief
called life
Bend, before you break.
Give in, but don't give up.
Reach out, not because you're weak,
but because you're strong enough to know you need somebody.
And in the bending,
you'll find your footing
In the bending,
you'll find your breath.
In the bending,
you'll find God—
Who helps you to catch your breath,
Who keeps you standing,
and Who constantly whispers a reminder
You will not break.
